Success in No Accident

Pelé is a world renown soccer player, however, his words can be used as a checklist for success at anything.  Let’s take a moment to explore each area:

Hard Work: Are you putting in the effort?  Success encompasses the whole body.  It takes physical, mental, and emotional effort.  Have you exerted everything you have to give?

Perseverance: Are you sticking with it even through the roadblocks?  Common roadblocks include lack of confidence, fear of failure, perfectionism and just plain feeling stuck.  These are sometimes referred to as our “Saboteurs”.  Have you found the tools to navigate roadblocks and combat Saboteurs?

Learning: Are you staying open to new ideas/perspectives?  There are paths to explore within yourself that will bring new insight. (Self-Discovery) Are you willing to journey down this path of self -discovery?

Studying:  Are you constantly attaining knowledge about your industry/ clients/ competition?  There is insight to be gained in examining any group of people.  Is there further analysis to be made?

Sacrifice:  Have you given up something (comfort, time, money, sleep) to move yourself forward?  Anything worth gaining is worth some sacrifice.  What are you willing to give up, to move yourself forward?

Love: Do you have the passion to complete your purpose? Acting without passion, is just doing a checklist or going through the motions.  Are you in love with the “WHY” behind your actions?  –
