THE POWER OF ATTITUDE

Only you can control your attitude. Coachee will discuss the power their attitude has over the response of people around them. How does one affect change in ones own attitude to influence change in the attitude of those around him/her? Coachee will Develop an action plan.

CHALLENGING UP

If you are the one who does the work every day, it’s possible you see a way to improve the process, that the leadership just can’t see. Coachee will discuss ideas for making suggestions to improve or create new processes that challenge leadership ideas. (This is a minimum 2 session focus area)

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Whenever there are more than two people involved, there are going to be disagreements. Some are more difficult than others. Coachee will discuss conflict resolution strategies and develop an action plan.

CRITICAL THINKING

Critical Thinking is the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment. It is an essential skill in the business world and in many employment roles. Coachee will discuss and identify critical thinking strategies.

DEALING WITH CHALLENGES

Each of us face challenges in our personal and professional lives. They have helped shape us into the person we have become. Coachee will identify the challenging experiences that have affected them, and how they have grown from them. Coachee will discuss how challenges can be positive and how to work through each challenge.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. Coachee will discuss techniques to grow and maintain emotional intelligence.

GOAL SETTING

Company’s set goals each quarter/year. Some people make new years resolutions. How many individuals set person goals for each area of their life? Coachee will discuss the purpose of developing and refining goals. Coachee will identify and discuss key focus areas of their life (personal and professional) and develop long term goals in each focus area.

INSPIRING SELF & OTHERS

We all have times when we struggle to stay motivated. Coachee will identify and discuss different motivators for various aspects in their life and why these motivators work for them. Coachee will develop and plan for motivating someone around them that has struggled to be motivated.

HAVING INTEGRITY

A person with integrity adheres to moral and ethical principles; they are honest. There are times in our culture when we are asked to bend the rules or step outside the lines, either by our employer, supervisor, or friend. We have each experienced an ethical dilemma. Coachee will identify and discuss ethical dilemmas and potential consequences.

VALUE OF INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Interpersonal Skills are the traits you rely on when you interact and communicate with others. Coachee will identify interpersonal skills that are areas for them to focus on improvement and develop and action plan.

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

Organization is a skill. Some are extremely talented, others are not. Organization is more than a neat and tidy desk. Being organized includes having effective processes and procedures in place. Coachee will discuss their effectiveness at organizational processes and identify areas of improvement, developing an action plan.

MAKING A PARADIGM SHIFT

A Paradigm Shift is a fundamental change in approach or underlying assumption. Often empathy plays a key role in a paradigm shift. Coachee will discuss situations and try to see the situation from various points of view. Coachee will develop an action plan for himself/herself.

PERSONAL MISSION

Most organizations write a mission statement. The mission statement is used to guide the direction and decisions of the organization. However, most people have not taken the time to develop a personal mission statement. We each go through life making daily decisions and have no long term guide to basis those decisions on. Coachee will discuss the purpose of a personal mission statement, and develop their own personal mission statement.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR ROLE WITHIN THE COMPANY

Most organizations have written mission statements, that are posted on their website, or in a handbook somewhere. As an employee, it may or may not be shown to you when you are hired. Yet, each employee is responsible for helping to fulfill the mission. Employees have a difficult time feeling like they are purposeful and accomplishing a mission if they don’t understand the mission or how they fit into it. Coachee will discuss their understanding of the company’s mission, if their personal values align with the company’s mission, and how their role fits into meeting the mission. (Note – This session will need prior leadership input in order to complete)

SELF-AWARENESS

Self-awareness is the ability to focus on yourself and how your actions, thoughts, or emotions do or don’t align with your internal standards. This is an important Interpersonal Skill. Coachee will discuss the Archetypes of Self-Awareness and develop and action plan toward being more self-aware.

SELF-LEADERSHIP

Everyone leads something – even if its just you. The question is, do you lead yourself well? Coachee will identify questions and actions to develop a plan for self- leadership.

UNDERSTANDING STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES

There are lots of assessments out there to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses. Your last performance review probably reflects both strengths and weaknesses as well. Are we utilizing our strengths to their fullest potential? Should we view weaknesses as a negative? Coachee will discuss building on strengths and how to re-focus on some weaknesses.

TRUSTED & VALUED

Do employees feel safe to be innovative? To be honest? To share constructive criticism with colleagues? If management is not building a culture of being trusted and valued, statistics show employees are less likely to be engaged in their work. Coachee will discuss the impact of their organization and what changes leadership and co-workers can make to improve the culture to make them feel more trusted and valued. (Note – Leadership has to agree to be open to accept change is necessary to allow this as part of their program)

UNCONSCIOUS BIAS

We all have biases. We choose one brand of peanut butter over another, because we grew up eating that brand. The definition of Unconscious Bias is Social Stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness. Coachee will discuss potential unconscious biases and how to overcome unconscious biases within themselves and address unconscious biases in those around them.

A leader is defined as a person who leads. The question is can anyone be a leader? What actually makes someone a leader? Coachee will discuss the difference between a leader and a manager, what makes leaders influential, exceptional, and purposeful.
