In my youth, while struggling with my own sense of self-worth, I often found joy in helping my friends see their true value and gain clarity about the person they wanted to become. I didn’t realize it then, but that was the early spark of my passion for coaching.
I began my career in education, believing it would be the place where I could help children discover who they were meant to be. After ten years, however, I realized I wasn’t making the impact I had hoped for—and I wasn’t feeling fulfilled in my work.
Having spent over 30 years in management, there’s one piece of advice I’ve shared time and again: You spend more waking hours at your job than anywhere else. If you don’t love what you do, find something that lights you up. Yes, there will always be tough days, but overall, your work should bring you purpose and joy.
I was fortunate when an unexpected opportunity came my way, leading me in a completely new direction for the next 20 years. It was a fulfilling season of life, but deep down, I knew it wasn’t my true calling.
Then, in 2016, everything changed. I was involved in a serious auto accident—one that first responders said should have been fatal. Miraculously, I walked away with only minor injuries. That experience was my wake-up call. I realized it was time to truly focus on my purpose.
In 2018, during a leadership program, I was asked to write a personal mission statement. I’ve refined it over the years, but that moment became the catalyst for what would eventually become SF Professional Edge, LLC. I knew that my passion for helping others become the best version of themselves would one day take shape in this work.
When my workplace went through a restructuring in 2020, my position shifted, creating an opportunity for honest conversation with the owners—people I’d worked with for over 16 years. Rather than part ways, they invited me to explore how my role could evolve to include new challenges and growth. That conversation opened the door for me to share my personal mission—and the dream of launching my own coaching business.
In October 2022, SF Professional Edge, LLC was born.
Today, it’s incredibly rewarding to see my clients make meaningful progress toward their goals—whether it’s building closer relationships with their families, stepping into leadership roles with confidence, or negotiating a well-deserved promotion. Watching them create more balance, fulfillment, and purpose in their lives reminds me every day why I followed this path.
