Know Your Talents

Everyone possesses unique talents and skills that are gifts from a higher power, meant to be honed and shared with the world. These abilities should not be hidden away, but neither should they be flaunted. It’s about recognizing your strengths and utilizing them effectively.

Reflecting on my own talents, I’ve discovered proficiency in organization, customer service, critical thinking, and administrative tasks, among others. These skills have been cultivated over years of experience as an Academy Director and Operations Manager. While some talents have shone brightly, I’ve also recognized areas where I may need assistance, such as technical writing or artistic endeavors like creating murals.

The key question to ask yourself is whether you are fully leveraging your talents and skills for your own benefit and that of your organization. If you find yourself underutilizing your strengths, it’s time to reassess your current role and explore opportunities where your talents can truly shine. This may involve having an open conversation with your supervisor to discuss how you can contribute more effectively and whether there are alternative roles within the company better suited to your skill set.

Additionally, consider how your talents align with the organization’s mission. By leveraging your skills in service of a greater purpose, you can find deeper fulfillment and meaning in your work.
