Forging Space: Finding Room in Your Life
When life feels utterly full, the idea of “creating space” can sound a little… impossible.
You might think, “Sure, let me just pull an extra hour out of thin air.”
Unfortunately, space doesn’t show up magically on your calendar. You have to forge it.
Think of a blacksmith. They are given raw metal and use heat and force to shape it into something useful. We are given the same raw material: a fixed 24 hours in a day. The real work isn’t finding more time; it’s deciding how we use the time we already have. We get to push our schedules around—a little here, a little there—just like the blacksmith works the metal.
My Own 15-Minute Start
For me, forging space started incredibly small. I didn’t overhaul my life. I started with just 15 minutes a day to sit in my “oasis” (my screened-in porch) and simply enjoy a cup of tea. No phone, no email, no agenda. That’s it.
That tiny pocket of breathing room didn’t fix my whole life, but it made everything else feel lighter and more manageable. It was a micro-recharge that changed the tone of my entire day.
The Power of the Pause
Forging space isn’t about luxury or self-indulgence. For some, it may be about survival; for others, it’s about finding relief; and for many, it’s about setting healthy boundaries.
The “why” doesn’t matter as much as the act. Once you experience that quiet pocket of time a few times, you realize just how much you needed it. It’s an essential part of maintaining your energy and sanity in a busy world.
Your Turn
You don’t need a massive schedule shift. You just need a hammer and a little intention.
