Find your Why –  Find Fulfillment

“Happiness comes from WHAT we do.  Fulfillment comes from WHY we do it.”  – Simon Sinek, author

Have you heard the stories of the millionaires that seem to have everything they could ever want, but still have this hole in their lives; they’re not fulfilled.  On the court, tennis legend Andre Agassi seemed to be unbeatable during his prime. The top ranked superstar was very successful (his current estimated worth is $145 million). In his 2009 autobiography, OPEN, Agassi revealed that his life as a tennis superstar was one that he hated. He went on to say that despite his wealth and success, playing the game interfered with his personal relationships – he felt disconnected from his own life. Toward the end of his tennis career, he became involved in philanthropy and was especially interested in education. He opened the Andre Agassi College Prep Academy in 2001.  Agassi has said that he finds that work far more fulfilling than anything he did during his days as a tennis star.

So what changed for Agassi?  Simply, he found something he was passionate about, which gave him purpose (his “WHY”).  When we cross our passion with our purpose, we will get fulfillment.

When we are living out our purpose, it doesn’t feel like work.  Jon Sanchez, CEO of Team Performance Institute, once told me, “I haven’t worked one minute for the past two days.  I have been focused on my clients.” Wouldn’t it be wonderful to say “I GET to do my job, instead of I have to do my job?”  When I started coaching, I felt myself come alive in a way I hadn’t in years.  My passion for helping people where they are and my purpose of guiding people to find opportunities to move themselves forward culminated into the perfect career that completely fulfills me and enables me to help others find fulfillment.

How can I support you in finding fulfillment and living out your best life every day?

Wishing you the best as you take your next steps toward having a Professional Edge.
